I want to create a new ‘Pop’ or ‘folk’ art that will resonate with those who would not normally visit galleries. You don't need a Degree to decide whether-or-not you like them, and that is how it should be – Brian Jones

Brian Jones creates his own unique brand of Pop. His chosen subject matter includes current world events, famous cultural figures and timely political issues. Humour, music and the relics of consumer culture are central to the artist’s work across a range of media including printmaking, oil painting and collage. Biting wit and comic satire permeate the artist’s ultra-contemporary and highly democratic practice. Recent works have included the piece, 'Free Pussy Riot' in support of the Russian feminist punk rock collective and 'Brokeback Britain' a work featuring the leaders of the UK’s coalition government. 'Brokeback Britain' has faced censorship. The piece was removed from two exhibitions in 2011 and banned from a group show in 2012.

The artist’s punk aesthetic and rebellious spirit have made Jones a hit with sports personalities, pop stars and politicians. His work is held in public and private collections including the United Kingdom’s House of Commons.

Born in Liverpool, Jones attended the same art school as John Lennon and Stuart Sutcliffe. He studied under the musician, artist and writer Jeff Nuttall as well as Jamie Reid, the creator of album cover artwork for the Sex Pistols. Jones worked with Reid for almost twenty years before focusing on his own independent practice.

Jones has exhibited internationally including in the UK, USA, South Korea and Japan.
